AT&T reveals Mobile Barcode Services for Android and BlackBerry smartphones

Todd Haselton, MobileBurn, 8/2/2010

Today AT&T launched a new suite of apps called Mobile Barcode Services that can be used to read barcodes on BlackBerry and Android smartphones. AT&T Code Scanner lets users scan 2D and 1D barcodes in magazines, online, and in stores to view more information on given products and services. AT&T Create-a-Code lets users create their own barcodes that can be used to direct friends or family to v-cards, a Facebook account, a blog, and more. The Code Management Platform is for business use, and is available to AT&T Mobile Barcode Charter Program partners. For more information, visit www.att.com/mobilebarcodes or www.att.com/createacode.
