McAfee offers online protection for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

With the invention of Internet-capable devices, such as mobile phones and tablets, there is a need to provide the same level of web content filtering and online protection offered to PC users. Especially as many of these devices are used by children and teenagers.
McAfee originally answered this need for PC users through the introduction of McAfee Family Protection in June of last year. Now McAfee has introduced a new version of McAfee Family Protection for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
The security company has good reason to introduce a specific version of its package for these mobile Apple devices. Admob states that 65% of iPod touch users and 13% of iPhone users are below the age of 17.
The company also justified its position that parents should be concerned about teen’s online behavior through their Secret Life of Teens survey. That survey found 85% of teens browse online somewhere other than at home, 32% say they don’t tell their parents what they do online, and 28% engage with strangers online.
In addition to website and search filtering the product will also provide location tracking for those devices with GPS technology. McAfee Family Protection for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad Edition is available through the iTunes App Store for $19.99.
